Rep. Scott Peters Town Hall — August 26 The Pacific Beach Town Council (PBTC) and the Pacific Beach Planning Group (PBPG) will host a community town hall with U.S. Rep. Scott Peters on Wednesday, August 26, from 6:30–7:30 p.m. at the Crown Point Junior Music Academy Auditorium, 4033 Ingraham Street, Pacific Beach. The program will begin with a 15-minute community presentation involving the PBTC, PBPG and Neighbors for a Better California (NFABC), focused on the proposed Turquoise Tower and the broader housing-policy and planning questions it has raised. Rep. Peters will then give remarks, followed by a public Q&A. The discussion will look beyond a single project to a larger question: If long-standing development rules are being changed in the name of solving California’s housing crisis, are the resulting projects actually creating meaningful housing opportunity and growth that works for the communities where they are built? The project is not approved and remains under City review with important issues unresolved.
